REPORTS TO: Clinical Manager (LMHP); MHP Team Leader
SUPERVISED BY: Clinical Manager (LMHP); MHP Team Manager; MHP Team Leader; Psychiatrist

RESPONSIBILITIES:
? Provides individual Psychosocial Skills Rehabilitation (PSR) services in the community locations where clients live, work, attend school, and/or socialize. May provide group PSR at agency location, where applicable and according to assignment.
? Assists clients in developing goals for treatment within the first 30 days of service, based on client and family stated goals, strength-based interviews, and collaboration with assigned Mental Health Professional (MHP) Team Leader.
? Assists clients in restoring, rehabilitating, and developing social and interpersonal skills to help them stay in the community setting of their choice. Identify, enhance, and establish support networks, community awareness, coping strategies, and improve functioning in the individual's social environments (home, work, school).
? Provides skill-building services that restore, rehabilitate, and support the development of daily living skills to improve each client's self-management of the negative effects of psychiatric or emotional symptoms.
? Assists clients in identifying, effectively responding to or avoiding identified precursors ("triggers") that lead to functional impairments. Helps implement Crisis Management Plan on an ongoing basis by identifying needed skills, teaching skills, and implementing skills to assist in the management of crisis events or triggers.
? Assists in developing and implementing plans of service through direct collaboration with MHP Team Leader, MHP Team Managers, and Clinical Manager.
? Builds and develops client engagement and compliance through explanation of services, scheduling of visits, follow-up on "no-shows," medication management skills, and other methods. Documents attempts to engage and clients' responses.
? Documents services in a timely and effective manner according to agency policies and procedures. Works with MHP Team Leader to ensure accurate and effective documentation prior to entering logs for billing.
? Attends supervisory staff meetings with Clinical Manager on a regular basis.
? Participates as a member of staff, work unit and/or department committee in programs and resource activities.
? Provides leadership and/or assistance in therapeutic groups.
? Attends weekly staff meetings with MHP Team Leader to address scheduling of services, collaboration on targeted goals, effective documentation, etc.
? Returns phone calls promptly.
? Follows all safety rules.
? Obtains 20 training hours as required for a full time MHS or 16 training hours as required for a part time MHS yearly.
? Actively participates in all evaluations conducted by the facility.
? Actively participates in crisis interventions according to agency policies and procedures.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
? Has a Bachelor of Arts/Bachelor of Science degree in a mental health related field; or
? Has a Bachelor's degree and is a college student pursuing a graduate degree in a mental health related field and has completed at least two courses in that identified field; or
? Has an Associate's degree, high school diploma or a GED, and
(a) has four years experience providing direct services in a mental health, physical health, social services,
education or correctional setting; or
(b) has two years experience as a mental health assistant in a mental health setting.
