New York State Institute for Basic Research (IBR) of the Office of Mental Retardation and Developmental Disabilities (OMRDD) and the Research Foundation for Mental Hygiene (RFMH) in partnership with New York State Education Department (SED) announce a doctoral-level clinical position for an experienced behavior analyst, to begin ASAP. The Behavioral Assessment and Intervention Program is a major new initiative by IBR/OMRDD and SED designed to meet the growing need for behavior analysts to provide evidence-based assessment and treatment of chronic aberrant behaviors for students enrolled in the New York City public schools. Duties:The Assistant Behavior Analyst must be knowledgeable in applied behavior analysis (ABA) with experience working with children and adolescents diagnosed with autism and other developmental disabilities presenting with severe aberrant behaviors (e.g., self-injury, aggression, disruption, elopement, pica, etc.) in school settings The primary duties of this position is to assist in behavioral assessment and treatment of a small number of students in the New York City metro area schools, serve as the reliability observer on different clinical teams, and to coordinate meetings between all team members. The Assistant Behavior Analyst will also serve as the lead follow-up clinician to those students who have been discharged from the program. This is a school-based consultation program; traveling is required.
