New York State Institute for Basic Research (IBR) of the Office of Mental Retardation and Developmental Disabilities (OMRDD) and the Research Foundation for Mental Hygiene (RFMH) in partnership with New York State Education Department (SED) has a clinical position available for an experienced behavior analyst, beginning ASAP. The Behavioral Assessment and Intervention Program is a major new initiative by IBR/OMRDD and SED designed to meet the growing need for behavior analysts to provide evidence-based assessment and treatment of chronic aberrant behaviors for students enrolled in the New York City public schools. Duties:The Associate Behavior Analyst must be an expert in applied behavior analysis (ABA) with extensive experience working with children and adolescents diagnosed with autism and other developmental disabilities presenting with severe and chronic aberrant behaviors (e.g. self-injury, aggression, disruption, elopement, pica, etc.) in school or clinical settings. The Associate behavior Analyst will assist the Senior Behavior Analyst in the behavioral assessment and treatment of a small number of students in the New York City schools. this is a school-based consultation program; travel is required.Qualifications:All applicants must have: (1) A master?s degree or higher in Psychology or Behavior Analysis (note: Special Education not eligible). (2) Board-certified in behavior analysis (BCBA) or eligible for certification within 6 months of hire. (3) At least one year of experience conducting analogue functional assessment A formal application should include: (1) statement of interest; (2) CV; (3) a sample BIP. The Behavioral Assessment and Intervention Program is a major new initiative by IBR/OMRDD and SED designed to meet the growing need for behavior analysts to provide evidence-based assessment and treatment of chronic aberrant behaviors for students enrolled in the New York City public schools. Duties:The Assistant Behavior Analyst must be knowledgeable in applied behavior analysis (ABA) with experience working with children and adolescents diagnosed with autism and other developmental disabilities presenting with severe aberrant behaviors (e.g., self-injury, aggression, disruption, elopement, pica, etc.) in school settings The primary duties of this position is to assist in behavioral assessment and treatment of a small number of students in the New York City metro area schools, serve as the reliability observer on different clinical teams, and to coordinate meetings between all team members. The Assistant Behavior Analyst will also serve as the lead follow-up clinician to those students who have been discharged from the program. This is a school-based consultation program; traveling is required. Qualifications:All applicants must have: (1) A master?s degree in psychology or related field (2) Board-certified in behavior analysis or eligible for certification within 1-year of hire (supervision is available) (3) At least one year of experience conducting functional assessment Conditions of Employment: Grant funded position.
