Job Title: Mental Health Intake Specialist

Description:
This position will have responsibility for providing mental health intakes for identified children, adults and families. This position is full-time Mon-Friday, 9a to 6p.Duties:Provide intake assessment, diagnosis and ongoing brief and community support services to identified children, families and adults in a culturally competent manner within the most appropriate environment. Fill out appropriate paper work including but not limited to BHO?s, Treatment plans, intake access to care documentation, and full intake documentation. The intake specialist will be responsible for completing all paperwork within a 48 hour period. Develop treatment plans which focus on consumer strengths, needs, and goals within the briefest time frame for successful achievement. Intake assessments to be completed within 14 days and treatment plans processed within 30 days. Establish and maintain working relationships with community resources, coordinate consumer treatment with other providers and initiate referrals to medical providers or other community resources when appropriate. Participate in supervision, multi-disciplinary team staffings, training, ethnic consultation and psychiatric consultation as required. Provide consultation for community contracts, as requested. Provide services and maintain records to meet GCBH requirements, level of care standards, and agency policy. Perform other duties as assigned.Qualifications:A. Physical Requirements: This position normally requires the physical demands of standing, walking, bending, lifting or performing other work requiring medium physical exertion, talking and hearing and adequate vision on a regular basis to perform the job requirements. These physical demands are required up to 90% of the time. B. Non-Physical Requirements: 1. Education: Masters degree in Behavioral Sciences required. 2. Experience: Two years mental health experience with children, families and adults required. Mental Health Professional (MHP) designation required. 3. Special Skills: Strong family and individual assessment skills Possess good verbal and written communication skills Ability to conduct home visits Ability to provide service in a culturally competent manner Ability to work independently and as a team member Ability to represent the agency in a professional manner within the community Bi-lingual (Spanish-English) preferred 4. Licensure, Registration, Certification: Agency affiliated counselor with the State of WA required. Licensure as a social worker, mental health counselor or marriage and family therapist with the State of WA preferred. Child Mental Health Specialist and other specialist designations preferred.
