Kitsap Mental Health Services is looking for a Psychiatric Aide to provide on-going supervision of clients in our Adult Inpatient Unit, carry out treatment objectives from treatment team, monitor and document client progress, and run therapeutic groups as assigned. This is a full time position. The shift is Saturday-Wednesday 11 pm-7:30 am. We offer a comprehensive benefits package including health, dental, vision and paid time off. Major Responsibilities and Duties: ~ Serve as the primary contact floor staff for the clients assigned in pass-down. Obtain the information necessary to work effectively with the assigned clients including listening to pass-down, reading through the chart, being familiar with treatment goals by working with the clients? Mental Health Professional (MHP). ~ Provide 1:1 contact with clients each day and write chart notes that focus on symptom(s) increase or decrease, and the specific goals identified by the client?s MHP, and Treatment Team. ~ Maintain a safe working environment. Demonstrate competency in using verbal de-escalation skills, both from MPAC and other trainings. Demonstrate competency in the use of mechanical restraints with clients in crises. ~ Know the location and status of the clients assigned at all times. ~ Participate in all program and clinical activities, including group, family and individual therapy as directed by the MHP and Treatment Team. Assure that each client?s daily schedule is followed according to their current capability. ~ Provide input into the development and implementation of treatment and discharge plans as requested by the Treatment Team. ~ Psychiatric Aides will not administer any medical treatment to clients but will assist RNs by setting up vitals station and by entering vitals into database. ~ Assist in serving meals and monitoring client nutritional intake. ~ Submit and complete all necessary paperwork including intakes, shift notes, mental status assessments and discharge related forms in an accurate and timely manner to assure compliance with all agency, statutory, regulatory, and funding requirements. ~ Transport clients to and from appointments as directed by the Treatment Team or Shift Supervisor. ~ Assist clients in the development and execution of daily living skills. Minimum Qualifications: High school diploma or GED with six months relevant work experience, licensure as a Registered Counselor (or other applicable counselor profession) in WA State, valid WA State Driver License and Food Handler card.
