The Psychiatric Clinic operates from 6AM to 6PM Monday through Saturday. The clinic is closed on Sundays and the day of observance of Federal holidays. The program seeks to address gaps in the care available for the prevalent injuries among combatants from the global war on terrorism. Through adoption of risk based staffing models and a uniform, best practice standard of care across DOD, the program seeks to ensure easy, rapid access to PH care for all beneficiaries and to ensure that transition across networks of care recognizes the unique care coordination and case management requirements for PH and TBI patients. The psychiatrist may have an occasional need to travel to other local facilities to accomplish assigned duties. All locations are within 20 miles of each other. Qualifications: Be a graduate from a medical school approved by the Liaison Committee on Medical Education of the American medical Association or the American Osteopathic Association or possess certification by the Educational Council for Foreign medical Graduates. Possess a current, valid, unrestricted license in one of the fifty states, the District of Columbia, Guam, or the U.S. Virgin Islands. Possess board certification in Psychiatry by the American Board of Psychiatry or the American Osteopathic Association, OR Possess residency training in Psychiatry and not less than 3 years of experience within the last 5 years as a full-time Psychiatrist. Notwithstanding the aforementioned experience requirements, the HCW must have pertinent clinical experience within the past 2 years sufficient to demonstrate current clinical competency for the setting and procedures required by this task order. Responsibilities: The Senior Medical Officer or a designated government representative will supervise the health care worker. Provide a full range of Psychiatrist services in accordance with privileges granted by the Commanding Officer. Provide technical direction to, perform with, or assist in the instruction of other health care professionals, seeing patients within the scope of their clinical privileges or responsibilities. Promote preventive and health maintenance care including annual physicals, positive health behaviors, and self-care through education and counseling.
