This dedicated unit is staffed by board-certified psychiatrists and certified psychiatric nurses backed by the full medical resources of the hospital. The hospital also staffs an inpatient behavioral health unit at an affiliated local hospital, a member of an established health system. As of now, this hospital will offer graduate medical residency programs in Family Practice and Emergency Medicine in affiliation with another affiliated college. Depression, bipolar disorder, generalized anxiety disorder, post-traumatic stress disorder, alcohol addiction are just some of the specialties covered and treated. Our client is hiring a Unit Chief role with the intention to replace the current physician on staff. They are a hospital which is located commutable to Providence, RI, and are part of a well-established, expanding 3 hospital system. This is an in-house Unit Chief position with a strong need to continue the strength and collegial environment. The new Unit Chief will be overseeing daily unit functions, attend occasional functions, oversee discharges, work closely with nurse practitioners, moonlighter psychiatry staff through the local hospital, work 1 out of 5 weekends, night time pager coverage for call, extra pay (up to 30k annually for additional weekend coverage). Weekend docs rarely get called or have to come in. Expect some adolescent evaluations and involvement as well. Facilitate interaction, oversight of the psychiatry and some E.D. unit interaction when needed. Advise on behavioral matters. This role includes working with C&L psychiatrist and others to complement the staff. Academic affiliation with two universities. Daily Monday through Friday, flexible schedule. But historically, one would work 9PM - 4 or 5PM. This is an Inpatient position. 11 total Adult beds. Average census is 10 when full. Voluntary unit. The entire psychiatry group encompasses a team of at least 18 people. There is an incentive production plan in the works to be discussed with each doc respectively. Probably too busy a role to also have a private practice on the side. This is not an underserved area.
