Job Title: Physician Psychiatrist Company: Location: Colorado Springs, CO Description: Incumbent serves as a staff psychiatrist assigned to the Community Based Outpatient Clinic (CBOC) in Colorado Springs, Colorado. Duties include diagnosis and evaluation of patients with mental, emotional and behavioral disorders, patient examination, therapeutic-ability effectiveness in managing emergencies, consultations, specialty skills, correspondence, record keeping, medical record documentation, attendance/participation in clinic meetings and peer councils. Must demonstrate emotional stability, dependability, positive relations with VA and DOD staff and community, adherence to ethical standards, eliciting cooperation. Physician acts as an Associate Chief of Staff for the Mental Health Services in the Southern CBOC's. Administrative duties will include coordination of QI Data, credentialing and privileging for staff. Incumbent will assist the team lead in dealing with patient concerns via congressional office, Eastern Colorado Health Care System (ECHCS) Director's office, and patient advocate office. Incumbent collaborates with the mental health lead supervisors to ensure the identification, measurement, and evaluation of performance measures and activities according to the Joint Commission and the standards of the ECHCS. Insures that peer review process is complete, competency files are maintained for physicians and nurse practitioners. Collaborates with the mental health lead supervisors for the recruitment and hiring of staff. Incumbent is responsible for the evaluation of designated medical staff performance via writing of proficiencies and annual evaluations.
