Job Requirements: Minimum Qualifications: Doctoral degree Ph.D., Ed.D., or Psy.D. from a regionally accredited program in the clinical practice of psychology. Training and experience must include knowledge and skills in the assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of children and youth with behavioral health disorders and/or developmental disabilities. The successful candidate must possess skill in the use of clinical interviewing, cognitive testing, personality assessment, and behavioral assessment including the use of cross-informant, and cross-contextual data collection techniques. Must hold a Virginia license in the practice of clinical psychology or be license eligible to obtain such within one year of hire date. The Henry M. Jackson Foundation (HJF) is seeking a full-time Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) Clinical Coordinator for the Defense and Veterans Brain Injury Center (DVBIC) located at the Camp Pendleton Concussion Clinic. HJF provides administrative and management support to DVBIC. DVBIC is a multi-site medical care, clinical research and education center. It is a unique collaboration of the Department of Defense (DoD), Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) Health Care System, and civilian partners. The mission of DVBIC is to serve active duty military, their dependents and veterans with traumatic brain injury (TBI) through state-of-the-art medical care, innovative clinical research initiatives and educational programs. JOB SUMMARY The position is responsible for delivering and managing patient services, including comprehensive interviews and assessment of traumatic brain injury. Screen and coordinate all patients referred to DVBIC Camp Pendleton. Serve as the central resource person for patients and families and as the liaison with both in-house medical disciplines and military and civilian TBI facilities. Primary responsibilities include providing comprehensive screening and intake of active duty military with traumatic brain injury following standard clinical practice guidelines as outlined by DVBIC and the Command. Gather information from medical records and providers and make appropriate treatment and research recommendations. Screen and make appropriate recommendations for selection in study protocol. Administer psychosocial questionnaires to study participants and complete research forms. Coordinate patient registry, gather medical/clinical information for Registry and complete documentation. Provide ongoing follow-up, support and case management services to patients and families following traumatic brain injury to facilitate community reintegration and return to work. Work with patient commands and medical personnel to coordinate care and return to work. Provide on-going services to patients at Naval Hospital Camp Pendleton, Naval Medical Center San Diego and outlying facilities including Twenty-Nine Palms. Conduct medical record review to determine the level of rehabilitation needs for patients. Provide consultation to Active Duty Case Managers at military facilities. Refer patients and families to appropriate community sources of care, i.e. local support groups, respite care, local community college programs. Provide ongoing education to military commands, medical treatment facilities and patients as needed. Assist in identifying, assessing, and referring returning Operation Iraqi Freedom (OIF) and Operation Enduring Freedom (OEF) patients. Work closely with military commands. Participate in ongoing work groups composed of key hospital administration and medical providers. Participate in weekly clinical meetings to discuss patient's needs with other staff members of DVBIC and the Office of Neurotrauma. Provide back up as needed for other clinical interviewing of patients and family members.
