This is a program for adolescents with severe behavioral problems who require a self-contained therapeutic educational and recreational program in a residential setting. The center is located on the grounds of Sheppard and Enoch Pratt Hospital in Towson, and serves males and females ages 12-17. Under general supervision, utilizes senior skills and experience with dual diagnosis chemically dependent child and adolescent patients and their families to develop educational and clinical programming, provide clinical care, and assist in the program's referrer relations, education, and marketing strategies. Communicates with patients based on an understanding of the developmental needs of children and adolescents. Provides education and counseling on chemical dependency, psychiatric illness, and treatment to patients and their parents/guardians. Provides case management, triage, and referral service and serves as primary therapist to patients in outpatient programs. Position Requires: Bachelor's degree in related field and a minimum 3 years of experience -OR- a high school diploma and 7 years of relevant experience. All applicants must possess Certified Associate Counselor - Alcohol & Drug (CAC-AD) or Certified Chemical Dependency Counselor (CCDC) in the State of Maryland at time of appointment and continuously throughout tenure in position.
