Job Description

SHARPER FUTURE is currently hiring a qualified pre-licensed (AMFT/ASW/APCC) Staff Clinician to provide mental health and substance abuse treatment to a forensic population in our San Diego clinic. This position will provide both short-term and long-term psychotherapy services to post-incarcerated, outpatient population, which includes: individual and group therapy, family therapy, dual diagnosis treatment, crisis prevention, and trauma-focused cognitive behavioral therapy, administering assessments with written reports and monthly treatment plans. Population includes county and federal clients. This office does not service state parole clients. Prior training and/or experience in substance abuse treatment and/or working with a criminal population is preferred, along with knowledge of cognitive-behavioral interventions used to provide mental health counseling. 

Previous experience not required though. 

Must be able to successfully pass a criminal background check.

  • Background providing group and/or individual counseling preferred
  • ASW, APCC or AMFT (registered with BBS with a number)
  • Excellent organization skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks
  • Attention to detail

  • Proven effective communication
