Skills / Requirements: The Mental Health Counselor/In home counselor/CBHA assessor must have Masters Degree in the field of counseling, social work, psychology, rehabilitation, special education, and/or a human services field and have knowledge of the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders and Medicaid documentation requirements.

Primary Job Responsibilities

-Serve high-risk families, including those whose children are at substantial risk of placement or who are in placement and cannot be reunified without in-home services. Foster Care

-Provide services primarily in client homes. Travel to client homes and other locations.

-Schedule sessions at times that are convenient for families, and when problems are likely to occur, including evenings, weekends and holidays. Maintain a flexible workweek.

-Schedule and complete client intake sessions within 24 hours of referral.

-Provide back-up for other therapists and collaborate with the medical psychiatrist when needed.

-Participate in weekly team consultation meeting, and individual supervision as needed.

-Assess safety, structure the environment and use clinical strategies designed to promote safety.

-Pscyho Social Assessments

-Provide a range of clinical, concrete and advocacy services to family members that are consistent with the family’s values, learning styles, lifestyle, circumstances and culture.

-Develop and maintain a positive, collegial working relationship with family members.

-Conduct comprehensive, strength-based and behavior focused assessments. Collaborate with family members and referents in developing intervention goals and service plans.

-Utilize research-based cognitive/behavioral strategies to facilitate behavior change.

-Collaborate and advocate with formal and informal community resources and systems, while teaching family members to advocate for themselves.

*Active and unrestricted Florida license in Social Work, Marriage & Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or equivalent

Minimum Qualifications:

• Capacity to provide consistent services to clients on a weekly basis with appropriate documentation that includes: assessments, treatment plans, reviews, progress notes, case summaries, and reports, etc.
• Ability to assess clients’ needs and work interactively to help them develop appropriate treatment plans and clinical goals, and document progress
• A desire to participate as a member of our healing community, sharing in regularly scheduled monthly case conferences
• Commitment to working with clients from diverse cultural, racial, and socioeconomic backgrounds
• Positive, sustained energy and an optimistic outlook
• Adequate computer skills and excellent written, interpersonal, and oral communication skills
• Registered Intern

• Required education: Must have a Master's
  • Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) or Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW)
  • Spanish speaking desired.
