COUNSELOR FULL-TIME needed for immediate hiring in our growing Richmond adult, out-patient, private substance abuse methadone treatment center. REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor?s degree is required in counseling, psychology, sociology, or other in a related field, plus some basic experience in providing human services in a formal setting. CSAC is a definite plus! However, we are willing to supervise the right candidate for CSAC certification. We are looking for a dependable person with a positive attitude, a strong work ethic, and high professional standards. We also expect our selected candidate to have good customer courtesy skills and a strong employment track record. Our preferred candidate will be self-directed and task-oriented, but can also work well within a treatment team atmosphere under the clinic manager?s leadership. WORK SCHEDULE: The work schedule is Monday-Friday from 6:00 am until 2:30 pm, but most of our patient contact and clinical work is conducted during the early morning hours from 6:00 until 9:30 am when we hold group sessions and/or individual counseling. After 9:30AM staff meets with patients by appointment only or to process new admissions. We currently have no evening groups or individual counseling. Staff do rotate coverage on Saturday mornings from 6:30AM until 12:00 noon as needed and receive compensatory time off. Our center is presently closed on Sundays. BENEFITS: Benefits include 2 weeks of paid vacation accrued monthly and available after six months of employment, 5 days per year of sick leave, 7 paid holidays, medical insurance within 60 days of employment, and a vested 401K retirement plan after 6 months of employment. Benefits may additionally include supervision for CSAC or LPC as arranged on a case-by-case basis.
