The Emma L. Bowen Community Service Center is seeking a Part Time Licensed Mental Health Therapist to join our team, to provide clinical services to children ages 0-8 and their families. The ideal candidate will have experience in Early Childhood Mental Health, possess strong clinical documentation skills, and demonstrate cultural sensitivity in a diverse environment.
For over 45 forty-five years, our organization has provided mental health and holistic services in northern Manhattan for families, children, adolescents, and other adults including the elderly in a supportive and caring environment. We also have an outpatient and residential substance abuse program as well as a Therapeutic Preschool for 3-5 year olds.
Upper Manhattan Mental Health Center is a Certified National Health Service Corps (NHSC) site.

JOB DESCRIPTIONJob Title: Licensed Mental Health Therapist
Location; Early Childhood Services
Hours: Flex hrs. between Mon-Fri 3:00pm - 6:00pm/ Part Time, 5-7 hrs./wk.
- Deliver therapeutic services (including play therapy) to young children, families, and groups in alignment with best practices and agency guidelines
- Conduct comprehensive biopsychosocial assessments and develop individualized treatment plans
- Complete documentationincluding progress noteswithin 2448 hours
- Ensure all clinical records comply with HIPAA and relevant state/federal regulations
- Stay current with clinical best practices and continuing education requirements
- Uphold ethical standards and maintain appropriate professional boundaries
- Identify and connect clients to community resources and referral services as needed
- Fluent in Spanish and English (bilingual proficiency required)
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and active listening skills
- Enthusiastic about working with children under 8 years old and their caregivers
- Reliable, ethical, and team-oriented
- Basic to moderate computer proficiency
- Demonstrated ability to manage self-care and maintain professional composure
- Experience with early childhood populations
- Masters degree in Mental Health Counseling, Social Work, Psychology, or a related field
- Active New York State licensure: LMSW, LCSW, or LMHC
