Salary and Benefits
This position is in Salary Grade PM 4 with a minimum starting salary of $51,264 per annum. The successful candidate's salary will be calculated based on education and experience within the grade range. This position is funded through a 3-year grant and has the potential for continued funding at the conclusion of the grant in December 2025.

General Description
The purpose of this position is to help students succeed by providing mental health services, outreach and education, connecting them to resources and services, developing plans of action to meet their goals, and assist them with navigating challenging environments and situations. This position will help to create an inclusive and welcoming environment for students to develop and utilize skills in self-awareness, self-advocacy, and resilience, to maximize their educational experience.
Providing short term mental health counseling, making clinical and mental health referrals to external clinicians for long-term counseling; assisting with college-wide programs regarding student care, support, and mental health topics. Provides group counseling sessions. Conducts clinical evaluation to determine mental health and/or substance use treatment needs. Assists with maintaining policies and procedures to maintain legal and ethical standards, as related to mental health counseling. Maintains individual records within electronic health records and maintains confidentiality. Performs other job-related duties as required.
This position will work the majority of their hours between 8:00am and 5:00pm Monday-Friday, however some evening hours will be required, and occasional weekend hours will be necessary. This position will travel one day a week to one of our extended campuses to provide mental health services and outreach to students.
Qualifications: Education
Master's degree in counseling, psychology, social work or related field. Must be approved and registered with the State of Nebraska board for licensure as a PLMHP, LMHP, or LIMHP.
Qualification:Experience
Over one year post master's degree providing direct counseling services.
Experience in making referrals, outreach programming, presentations, and training are preferred.
Qualification:Skills
Ability to effectively and compassionately communicate difficult and sensitive information, and work within and assist others in navigating a complex system.
Must have the ability to work independently, take personal initiative, and work within a team.
Must possess skills necessary to establish and maintain therapeutic relationships.
Must have the ability to interact effectively with culturally, racially, and diagnostically diverse college students.
