Job Summary
BASIC FUNCTION:
Under the supervision of a Certificated Administrator, Counselor or School Psychologist, a Licensed MFT will:
KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES:
Obtaining valid and informed treatment consent from the appropriate parties.
Provide diagnostic assessments and develop treatment plans for psychotherapeutic services for school-generated referrals, first Priority will be given to referrals of students whose IEPs include mental health services.
Provide individual, group, collateral and/or family therapy as indicated in the treatment plan
Provide case management and collaboration with the school and with any other private or public agencies involved in the case.
Receive clinical supervision as needed from a licensed therapist who meets the qualifications of the California Board of Behavioral Sciences. As an MFT, the counselor will receive clinical supervision that meets the requirements of the California Board of Behavioral Sciences (one hour of individual supervision for every 10 client hours
Maintain client related counseling records.
Attend school and school district client-related meetings as appropriate
Attend relevant trainings, when feasible.
Participate in the MAA Time Survey.
Address a variety of general Mental Health issues as requested by school administration staff such as: critical incident debriefing for students, staff and families, attendance at meetings that are deemed important, and general school wide mental health support.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Must maintain an MFT license or Intern Clinical Social Worker license

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Hearing and speaking to exchange information.
Seeing to monitor students.
Dexterity of hands and fingers to operate assigned equipment and demonstrate activities.
Bending at the waist, kneeling or crouching to assist students.
Reaching overhead, above the shoulders and horizon
