Join our client in New York, NY, as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) providing comprehensive mental health care to patients of all ages. Conduct evaluations, prescribe medications, and create evidence-based treatment plans in collaboration with a multidisciplinary team. Ideal for experienced PMHNPs who thrive in a collaborative outpatient setting focused on integrated care.

Responsibilities as the Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner:
  • Psychiatric Assessment: Conduct evaluations and diagnose a range of mental health conditions including mood, anxiety, ADHD, and psychotic disorders.
  • Medication Management: Prescribe, monitor, and adjust psychotropic medications based on clinical guidelines and patient response.
  • Treatment Planning: Create individualized, evidence-based care plans incorporating pharmacology and supportive therapies.
  • Integrated Care: Collaborate with primary care, behavioral health, and case management teams to ensure coordinated treatment.
  • Patient Education: Educate patients and families on diagnoses, medications, side effects, and strategies for long-term mental wellness.
  • EHR & Documentation: Maintain accurate clinical documentation in eClinicalWorks, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards.
Qualifications for the Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner:
  • Education: Master’s or Doctorate in Nursing from an accredited program with a focus in psychiatric-mental health.
  • Licensure: Active and unrestricted RN and NP licenses in the State of New York.
  • Certification: Board-certified as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC).
  • Experience: 2+ years post-graduate experience in psychiatric care, with demonstrated ability to treat patients across the lifespan in outpatient settings.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in eClinicalWorks or similar EHR platforms, with strong documentation and clinical workflow management skills.
  • Skills & Attributes: Strong clinical judgment, cultural sensitivity, and communication skills, with a collaborative mindset and commitment to holistic mental health care.
