Duties

Help

Performs duties consistent with the coordinion of approved drug abuse programs, including Non-residential Drug Abuse Trement, Drug Educion, Residential Drug Abuse Trement, and Medicion-Assisted Trement (MAT).

Exercises full professional responsibility for his/her findings, interpretions, decisions, recommendions and reports.

Responsible for initiing a trement program and for implementing and monitoring the trement program in compliance with Bureau of Prisons' policy, the Violent Crime Control and Law Enforcement Act of 1994, and the First Step Act of 2018.

Directs and supervises all clinical activities and staff in relion to the drug trement of Bureau inmes, including: testing, test interpretion, clinical diagnosis, clinical staffing of inmes with staff and serves as the institution advoce for drug programs with all staff, including Executive staff.

Responsible for the provision of highly-skilled drug abuse trement protocols and supervision of all drug abuse trement staff.

Along with all other correctional institution employees, incumbent is charged with responsibility for maintaining security of the institution. The staff's correctional responsibilities precede all others required by this position and are performed on a regular and recurring basis.

Basic Requirements:

Degree: Sisfactory completion of all the requirements for a doctoral degree (Ph.D. or equivalent) directly reled to full professional work in clinical psychology is required.

NOTE: Applicants may have received this degree in either clinical or counseling psychology.

AND

In addition to the basic requirements, applicants must have:

Educion:

GS-12 and GS-13: There is no substitution of educion for specialized experience for this position the GS-12 and GS-13 levels.

OR

Experience:

GS-12 and GS-13: At least one year of specialized experience equivalent in difficulty and complexity to the next lower grade level. To be creditable, this experience must have equipped the applicant with the particular qualificions to successfully perform the duties of the position, and th is typically be in or reled to the position to be filled.

Some examples of the qualifying experience are:

GS-12:

Experience in providing assessment and referral services for individuals with substance use disorders and/or co-occurring disorders.

Experience in providing individual and/or group trement to individuals with substance use disorders and/or co-occurring disorders.

Experience in conducting psychosocial interviews and developing trement plans for individuals with substance use disorders and/or co-occurring disorders.

Experience in diagnosing substance use and mental health disorders.

GS-13:

Experience in evaluing need for substance use and/or mental health trement.

Experience in supervising trement staff in the provision of individual or group therapy and associed clinical documention.

Experience in providing psychosocial trement to individuals receiving medicion for substance use disorders.

Experience in planning and implementing trement programs for individuals with substance use disorders and/or co-occurring disorders.

Selective Factor:

Initial appointment to a supervisory/managerial position requires a one-year probionary period.
