SUMMARY:

We are currently seeking a Licensed Psychotherapist II to join our Therapy Team. Hennepin Healthcare's system offers a multidisciplinary approach to care (MD, APP, LP, MHP, RN, Social Work), as well as a fast-paced environment with psychologically (and often medically) complex patients. Our dedicated therapy team is comprised of over 50 Psychologists and Mental Health Professionals with training programs in both disciplines. MHPs at Hennepin Healthcare have access to regularly scheduled multidisciplinary and therapy-specific consultation meetings, and there are frequent opportunities for informal consultation. This full-time role will be Monday-Friday with the option of one virtual day per week.

Purpose of this position: The Mental Health Professional Level II will provide diagnostic assessment, screening, and treatment for persons living with mental illnesses; evaluate care and programming; provide individual therapy, couples/family therapy (if trained), and group psychotherapy; and provide clinical supervision to post-masters Mental Health Associates (LAMFT, LPC, LGSW).

A $5000.00 hiring incentive is available for eligible external candidates (contract/temporary workers, current employees, and former employees returning to HHS within one year are ineligible).

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provides mental health evaluation and treatment services including initial and ongoing screeners; diagnostic assessments; initial treatment plans and treatment plan updates; individual, couples/family (if trained), and group psychotherapy services; psychoeducation; care coordination and referrals; crisis services; and discharge planning
  • Completes documentation and billing in a timely and accurate manner for clinical services provided
  • Participate in multidisciplinary care team rounds, therapy case consultations and team meetings
  • Provides on-call phone coverage for patient coaching (as applicable to position)
  • Provides clinical supervision to clinical trainees (practicum students, interns, and fellows)
  • Assists in maintaining standards for clinic accreditation by health management organizations and state licensure/certification
  • Provides clinical supervision to post-masters Mental Health Associates (LAMFT, LPC, LGSW)
  • Other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Meets the DHS definition for Mental Health Professional. (See MN Statute 245.462, Subd. 18. Mental health professional)
  • Minimum of two years of experience as an MHP
  • OR-
  • An approved equivalent combination of education and experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in providing individual, family, and group psychotherapy, working with persons living with mental illnesses

Knowledge/ Skills/ Abilities:

  • Ability to provide psychotherapy to patients and families; ability to recognize and document patient progress;
  • Ability to recognize and document patient progress and care in a concise manner;
  • Ability to work cooperatively with other members of the multidisciplinary clinical team;
  • Ability to interact with individuals of widely diverse lifestyles including ability to deal objectively with individuals whose attitudes and behaviors differ from their own;
  • Ability to read and interpret written instructions, patient charts, and physicians' notes;
  • Ability to interpret policies and procedures
  • Ability to use computer systems, including electronic medical records, along with working knowledge of Microsoft Office Products (Outlook, etc.)

License/Certifications:

  • Must be a licensed mental health professional per Department of Human Services - LMFT, LICSW or LPCC.
  • Must be a board-approved supervisor
