Job Description
POSITION SUMMARY:
The Therapist is an advanced professional role that provides direct therapeutic services to clients with mental health and substance abuse issues. The therapist is responsible for maintaining patient care per program guidelines and external standards, such as those set by the Joint Commission and Medicaid. The therapist will deliver clinical services, including psychosocial assessments and treatment planning, to various populations. This includes providing individual, family, and group therapy for children, adolescents, and adults within the Community Action Team program.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Must have Florida License (LMHC, LCSW, LMFT). Bilingual (English-Spanish) is required.
- Computer knowledge should include Microsoft applications (Word, Excel) and Electronic Medical Records experience. helpful.
- Demonstrated competency in children and adolescent patient therapy. May provide clinical oversight in a multidisciplinary team.
- Must have a valid and current Florida Driver's License and reliable personal transportation

FUNCTIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
- Conduct thorough assessments and develop service plans, treatment plans, and discharge plans.
- Provide individual, family, and group therapy sessions with adults, children, and families in an outpatient, acute care inpatient or community setting.
- Accurate and timely documentation of clinical and administrative services following program guidelines and external standards (Joint Commission, Medicaid, etc.).
- Meets productivity requirements for the designated program through efficient workflow management.
- Maintains cooperative relationships with other internal departments and external agencies and keeps supervisor informed at all times of all relevant client, program, and community issues
- Understands the basic tenets of Co-Occurring disorders and the relationship between mental health and substance abuse. The therapist will also demonstrate knowledge of the age-specific needs of the clients treated in the program.
COMPLIANCE RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
- Adheres to all applicable federal, state, local, and company-maintained standards of compliance, ethics, and policies concerned with the administration and delivery of agency services.
- Meets deadlines, requirements, and expectations as established by the supervisor, agency, and department.
- Completes administrative functions and data entry timely and accurate.
CUSTOMER SERVICE RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
- Provides exceptional customer service in all communications and interactions with staff, the general public.
- Maintains confidentiality and remains calm under stress.
- Assists staff with support in all areas of functional responsibility in a courteous, supportive manner.
- Maintains and exhibits servant leadership qualities and exceeds customers' expectations.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Abilities in reaching, bending, talking, fingering, sitting, carrying, standing, grasping, fine hand coordination, ability to hear, ability to read and write, and the ability to remain calm under stress. Ability to reach with hands and arms, climb stairs, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. Specific vision abilities include close, distance, color, peripheral, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus. Must be capable of lifting 50 pounds of dead weight alone. May be required to complete standing presentations involving speaking and listening to audience.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
General office and health care setting. May be required to travel within Hillsborough County via agency vehicle or personal vehicle to provide services in a community setting. Most work is completed while seated using standard office equipment. Multi-tasking, fast- paced, team approach requiring above- average time management skills
