Job Summary
East Tennessee State University's (ETSU) Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Health is seeking a dedicated and compassionate individual to join our team as a full-time faculty member at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor.
Responsibilities include providing clinical care to adult patients through inpatient and/or outpatient services. The successful candidate will teach and supervise residents and medical students. Opportunities for research and scholarly activity are also available.
Faculty rank and salary will be commensurate with experience and qualifications. Academic appointments may be eligible for tenure. Clinical and research tracks are available and may convert to tenure-track within 3 years.
ETSU Psychiatry provides care to a large geographic region that includes northeast Tennessee, Southwest Virginia, Southern West Virginia, Eastern Kentucky, and Western North Carolina.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Excellent communication and teaching skills.
Required Qualifications
Degree: MD or DO
Certification: Board-certified or Board-eligible
Licensure: Eligible for licensure in Tennessee
Malpractice Requirements: Must meet ETSU Health malpractice insurance requirements ($5 million coverage)
Compensation & Benefits
Salary is competitive, with funding available through the Medical School and other sources. ETSU is 501C3 non-profit that qualifies for student loan forgiveness through the Department of Education.
