General Description
The purpose of this position is to provide clinical services to students in distress, food and financial assistance services, and develop a comprehensive prevention initiatives to address mental health and specific student issues.
Essential Job Duties
Provide case management services, food and financial assistance services, crisis intervention services and initial screenings/needs assessments.
Case Management Services: Work directly with individuals to coordinate services, ensure continuity of care, develop realistic action plans, and monitor wellbeing.
Food and Financial Assistance Services: Work directly with individuals to provide assistance and support to students with immediate, definable basic need insecurity.
Crisis Intervention Services: Work directly with individuals to assessment of urgent distress or crisis, monitor high risk clients, assist with hospitalization and aftercare, coordinate communication with psychiatric facilities and campus/community providers.
Screenings/Needs Assessments: Work with individuals to determine the nature of their presenting issues and needs, determine appropriate level of care, and develop appropriate follow-up plans.
Oversee the daily operations of the Falcon Food Pantry.
Assist Senior Clinician(s) in managing incoming clinical documentation from 3rd party vendors and coordinate with CS clinicians to ensure timely and appropriate follow-up.
Coordinate CS prevention and outreach plan to address specific mental health developmental needs of college students including but not limited to, bystander intervention and suicide prevention trainings.
Work with students to explore options related to the process of reporting incidences of sexual misconduct to Title IX Compliance Officers, Student Conduct Officer, University of Montevallo Police Department, and/or other authorities.
Serve as a point of contact and provide consultation (within legal limits) to faculty, staff, parents, and students expressing concerns regarding members of the University community.
Provide administrative support for the CARE Team and Threat Assessment Team.
Prepare and maintain appropriate clinical and non-clinical documentation.
Serve in the Emergency Duty and Mental Health Responder on-call rotation.
Assist with Division of Enrollment and Student Affairs and University committees, events, and activities as needed and assigned.
Serve on assigned Student Affairs and University committees.
Assume other duties as the Senior Clinician for Acute and Crisis Services and the Executive Director may assign.

Basic knowledge/understanding of college student development.
Strong interpersonal skills.

Ability to work comfortably with a broad range of populations.
Ability to maintain confidentiality.
Ability to manage crisis situations effectively.
Ability to balance administrative tasks with clinical tasks.
Ability to learn and use departmental software platforms.
Ability to manage large volumes of information.
Ability to multitask and demonstrate flexibility in a rapidly changing environment.
Must be self-directed and able to complete projects with limited supervision.
Education and Experience
The educational requirement for this position is: Master's degree in Counseling; Clinical Psychology or Social Work required.

This position requires: No experience required.
Preferred: 1 year of experience as a clinical case manager with at least some of that experience as a case manager in a higher education setting strongly preferred.
