POSITION SUMMARY The Director of Admissions/Intake is responsible for implementing and evaluating the facilities admission procedures.

Key Accountabilities & Duties:

  • Perform personnel management duties including screening and selection of assessment and referral staff, providing department orientation and training, completing performance evaluations and giving feedback to Human Resources office.
  • Maintain Intake Call, assessment and administrative documentation associated with services.
  • Manage FTE standards and department budget.
  • Develop and implement policies and procedures for assessments and referrals, ensuring the overall quality of services provided.
  • Member of the Management Team and other committees as assigned.
  • Annually review policies for your department to ensure compliance with regulatory agencies and hospital practice.
  • Annually review and maintain updated job descriptions, performance evaluations, orientation checklists and competencies.
  • Ensure departmental safe work practices.
  • Ensure on-call schedules for 24/7 assessment coverage.
  • In the event that admission to The Pavilion programs is not appropriate, will assist in arranging referral for treatment in an alternative facility or outpatient services.
  • Completes daily customer follow-up calls as assigned.
  • Provide appropriate statistical analysis on a monthly basis.
  • In cooperation with Business Development Director and Business Development Representatives, provides necessary referral feedback and participates in referral source meetings and improves referral source satisfaction.
  • Compile paperwork for all contacts so that appropriate records are maintained and available.
  • Responds to a support code in a therapeutically appropriate manner as prescribed in the annual TCI Training Inservice.
  • Performs all additional responsibilities as deemed necessary by the CEO.
  • Regularly holds staff meetings.
  • Assist in the completion of the PPR process for the facility.
  • Ensure releases are completed on all admissions.
  • Improve patient satisfaction scores for assessment.
  • Assists in the completion of the PPR process.

Qualifications

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

  • Requires a registered nurse or a Masters level degree in social work, psychology, or related field.
  • Two years practical experience, preferably in the psychiatric/mental health field.
  • Two years supervisory experience in an admissions setting or office management.
  • Must have an understanding of DSM V and the application to psychiatric and/or chemical dependence service.
