Step into a vital leadership position as an Off-Shift House Nurse Supervisor supporting psychiatric nursing care. This is a contract opportunity for immediate start on the overnight shift. You will provide expert guidance and oversight to the nursing staff, ensuring effective coordination and safe patient care delivery in a psychiatric inpatient setting.
Schedule:
- 10:45pm 7:15am (overnight shift)
- Five 8-hour shifts per week, totaling 40 hours/week
- Every other weekend: Friday and Saturday (11pm 7am)
Qualifications:
- Current and unrestricted RN license
- Minimum of 2 years experience in psychiatric or behavioral health nursing
- Previous charge nurse, nursing supervisor, or resource nurse experience preferred
- Strong assessment, crisis management, and patient advocacy skills
- Ability to effectively lead and communicate with multidisciplinary teams
- BLS certification (required)
Responsibilities:
- Serve as the clinical resource and administrative supervisor for nursing staff on evening/night shifts
- Oversee patient admissions, transfers, and discharges during assigned hours
- Address staff or patient concerns, providing immediate guidance and support as needed
- Lead patient care rounds and ensure adherence to hospital policies and safety standards
- Respond promptly to psychiatric emergencies and coordinate interventions
- Complete administrative duties, including staffing adjustments and shift reports
- Foster a supportive, collaborative environment through leadership and mentorship
