Job Description
Williamsburg Jr./Sr. High School is accepting applications for a jr./sr. high school behavior interventionist. The Behavior Interventionist will provide support to students, teachers, and staff in fostering a positive, inclusive learning environment. This role involves implementing evidence-based behavior interventions, supporting students with social-emotional challenges, and collaborating with teachers, parents, and support staff to promote student success. Responsibilities include conducting observations and data collection, providing direct support to students in crisis situations, using de-escalation techniques and restorative practices, assisting in training staff on behavior management strategies and intervention techniques, working closely with parents and caregivers, participating in team meetings, maintaining accurate and confidential records of student behavior and interventions, and promoting social-emotional learning and proactive behavior strategies.
Candidates with a Bachelor's degree in psychology, education, social work, or a related field are preferred. Experience in a similar field, combined with a non-preferred degree will be considered. Prior experience in behavior intervention, special education, counseling, or related fields is also preferred, but not required. Certifications such as CPI (Crisis Prevention Institute) and other similar practices are beneficial, but not required. For those without these certifications, the district will work with you to attain them. We're looking for the right person, who has a willingness to be curious and patient, and an interest in learning along with a team of professionals what we can best help students.
