Job Summary The Clinician provides clinical services to individuals served in the Comprehensive Services Center (CSC), conducts assessments on individuals presenting to the CSC to determine the appropriate level of care, and coordinates access to the level of care by developing a treatment plan in partnership with the individual served. The Clinician provides individual, group, and family therapy related to functional, social, personal, and recreational skills and ensures completeness of clinical records by developing and updating comprehensive documentation in a timely, accurate manner.

Mental Health Resource Center, Inc. (MHRC) is a nonprofit organization that provides a wide range of behavioral health and social services to the community. Included in MHRCs service array are 24-hour emergency services and inpatient psychiatric services for children, adolescents, and adults. Outpatient services include medication management, care coordination, case management, intensive case management team services, counseling, psychosocial rehabilitation, an adult therapeutic family program, state hospital liaison services, mental health court, multidisciplinary forensic teams (MFT), jail-based diversion services, a Co-Responder Program with the Jacksonville Sheriffs Office, the Link-to-Life suicide prevention program, and services that assist individuals in obtaining benefits such as Social Security Income, Social Security Disability Income, Medicaid, food stamps, and housing. In addition, UF Health Jacksonville contracts with MHRC to manage the hospitals adult inpatient psychiatric unit. MHRC also operates eight Florida Assertive Community Treatment (FACT) programs for adults with severe and persistent mental illness, located in Clearwater, Gainesville, Jacksonville, Kissimmee, Rockledge, Tampa, and Winter Haven, as well as a FACT Lite program providing Linking, Advocating, Treating, Transitioning, Empowering & Recovery Support (LATTERS) services in Jacksonville. The two FACT teams located in Jacksonville serve residents of Duval, Clay, and Nassau counties.

The Clinician provides individual, group, and family therapy related to functional, social, personal, and recreational skills and ensures completeness of clinical records by developing and updating comprehensive documentation in a timely, accurate manner.
Responsibilities
- Provides individual, group, and family therapy related to functional, social, personal, and recreational skills to individuals receiving services.
- Completes intake procedures to facilitate the acquisition of CSC services and community services.
- Facilitates symptom management through periodic monitoring and assessment.
- Completes mental health status exams on individuals in crisis. If licensed, provides assistance in patient emergencies and completes professional certificates for individuals meeting inpatient admission criteria.
- Maintains current knowledge of the Florida Baker Act Statutes 394, new forms, procedures, etc.
- Collaborates with team and participates in consultations with Psychiatrists, Psychiatric Nurse Practitioners, and supervisor.
- Assesses and monitors for risk, symptoms of trauma, abuse, and neglect and uses appropriate reporting mechanisms.
- Develops, maintains, and updates clinical records in a timely manner and in accordance with departmental and records management policies.
- Completes comprehensive psychosocial assessments at the time of admission and on an ongoing basis.
- Collaboratively develops a strengths-based treatment plan with the individual served with input from family members, service providers, and significant others. Collaboratively completes treatment plan reviews and monitors and documents progress or lack of progress in meeting treatment goals.
- Maintains current, accurate, and comprehensive information in each record to include all activities, contacts, and communications on behalf of the individual served.
- Assists with delivering services at other sites or programs due to staff absences or vacancies.
- In order to be considered, candidates must have a Masters degree in Social Work or a related Human Services field from an accredited university or college (a related Human Services field is defined as one in which 30 hours of coursework includes the study of human behavior and development) and 6 months experience working with individuals with mental illness required.
- Experience working with adults with a chronic mental illness is preferred.
- Valid Florida State Registered Intern (IMH, ISW, or IMT) required within 90 days of employment.
- State of Florida license as LMHC, LCSW, or LMFT preferred.
- Clinician candidates are required to make sound decisions independently on a daily basis, including but not limited to recognizing risks and emergencies and responding appropriately. In addition, the ideal candidate will enjoy a fast-paced environment and know that what they do positively impacts the community. Excellent verbal and written communication skills are also required. Candidates must be proficient in Microsoft Office Programs, external email, and the use of the Internet.
