Role and Responsibilities: The Psychologist participates as a member of the multidisciplinary team to address ongoing needs of clients in multiple environments and provides advice and guidance based on psychological assessments. Psychologist provides consultation relative to psychological assessments and diagnosis for staff, family and service providers. Requirements: Education: Ph.D. or Psy.D in Clinical Psychology or Neuropsychology License: Licensure by the State of California, Department of Consumer Affairs, Psychology Examining Committee Requirements: Must be a Licensed Clinical Psychologist with specific training and experience in the assessment of developmental disabilities including Intellectual Disability and Autism Spectrum Disorder. Must be familiar with measures such as the ADOS-2, Wechsler IQ tests, Vineland-III, and CARS-2. Experience with differential diagnoses is exceptionally helpful to parse out developmental disabilities versus other mental health diagnoses or specific learning disabilities. Knowledge/Skills/Abilities/Responsibilities: Psychological evaluations will involve assessment of clients referred directly by the program. Evaluations may be conducted for clients ranging in age from early toddlerhood to late adulthood. The scope of evaluations will cover assessment of intellectual skills, adaptive functioning, and autism. Testing does not cover competence, diagnosing serious mental health issues, and diagnosing conditions that are not developmental in nature. Evaluations may include consultation with a client's physician, teacher, family member, or other people who may provide relevant information toward the client's evaluation. Evaluations may require additional observations in places such as a client's school in order to come to a diagnostic conclusion. Will be expected to meet a 2-week turnaround time for all psychological testing unless specifically approved by the Coordinator of Psychological Services. The Psychological Agency will monitor timelines and provide corrective action when they are not met. Evaluations must be conducted in office Evaluators will be professional, qualified, and licensed psychologists with expertise in assessment of developmental disabilities. Types of assessment measures used will follow APA guidelines, testing manuals and the most current research. Tests will be updated to the most current version as recommended by professional guidelines.
