Teaching
The incumbent will be expected to participate as a preceptor in the Core Clerkship in the Department of Psychiatry and Human Behavior at the Alpert Medical School at the Butler Hospital, and develop a clinical elective for medical students and residents diagnostic evaluations and treatment plans. The incumbent will be expected to participate in the teaching programs of the Division of Department of Psychiatry and Human Behavior at the Alpert Medical School at the Butler Hospital, which includes residents in Department of Psychiatry and Human Behavior at the Alpert Medical School and fellows in Psychiatry.
Research
The incumbent will be expected to establish, coordinate, and integrate clinical OCD research protocols at the Butler Hospital and, in collaboration, with the Department of Psychiatry and Human Behavior at the Alpert Medical School. The incumbent will also be expected to participate on a national level in cooperative group OCD research planning. The incumbent will be expected to establish an independent investigative program, preferably focusing on OCD, brain circuit-based interventions and anxiety research or a closely related field.
50% of the incumbent's time will be devoted to research, scholarly productivity and space will be provided.
The incumbent will serve as a liaison between the Butler Hospital and the various programs of Brown University and its affiliated hospitals.
Patient Care
The incumbent will be expected to spend time on the clinical 50% service and to see patients in the Butler Hospital outpatient unit.
Service Responsibilities
The incumbent will be expected to actively participate in all activities of the Department of the Department of Psychiatry and Human Behavior at the Alpert Medical School at the Alpert Medical School, and The Warren Alpert Medical School of Brown University.
Minimum requirements include: board eligibility or certification in Psychiatry, completion of an accredited psychiatry residency program, strong clinical background in obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD) and anxiety, excellence in patient care and teaching, and a commitment to scholarly participation in the internationally recognized OCD research programs of The Warren Alpert Medical School. Experience in anxiety disorders, diagnostic evaluations, brain circuit-based interventions and treatment is highly desirable. It is preferred that the candidate?s research experience focus on anxiety disorders or a closely related field.
