Mental Health Counselor - Tampa

TriSource is seeking a compassionate and mission-driven Mental Health Counselor to provide immediate, trauma-informed mental health support to individuals experiencing homelessness or at risk of becoming homeless. In this role, you will work as part of a multidisciplinary team to deliver crisis intervention, short-term counseling, and emotional support while promoting healing, stability, and long-term recovery. Employment: Temp to Perm Schedule: Monday-Friday 8AM-5PM with flexibility What You'll Do Provide immediate emotional and psychological support to individuals and families experiencing homelessness Conduct mental health assessments and develop individualized treatment and intervention plans Deliver short-term, evidence-based, trauma-informed counseling (individual and group), including techniques such as Psychological First Aid (PFA) and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) Facilitate life-skills and psycho-educational groups Collaborate closely with case managers, outreach staff, and community partners to coordinate holistic care Identify client needs and connect individuals to appropriate community resources, including housing, social services, and long-term mental health care Maintain accurate, timely, and compliant clinical documentation and records Participate in outreach efforts to identify individuals in need of mental health services Provide consultation and training to agency staff at assigned program locations Attend required clinical meetings, trainings, and supervision sessions Represent the agency in community activities and public relations efforts Maintain productivity standards as established by the agency or supervisor Required Qualifications Master's Degree in Social Work, Mental Health Counseling, or Marriage and Family Therapy Ability to speak, read, and write in English Flexible availability, including evenings, weekends, and holidays Valid Florida driver's license with reliable transportation Ability to pass FDLE Level II background screening Knowledge of community resources and social service systems Strong work ethic and ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment Pay Rate: $30/HR
