The Department of Psychiatry at Dartmouth is seeking an Academic Psychiatrist to join its faculty at Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center located in beautiful northern New England.
The Mood Disorders and Interventional Psychiatry Service is a comprehensive clinical service providing specialty psychiatric and psychological consultation and interventions.
In this role, you will lead the clinical service and develop an accompanying research portfolio from a base at the Academic Medical Center in Lebanon, NH. Current outpatient care focuses on evidence-based pharmacological options for treatment-resistant mood disorders as well as a growing number of interventional psychiatry treatments. Our current, interventional services include: transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS), intranasal esketamine therapy for depression, and electroconvulsive therapy (ECT). You will have an active teaching role with students, residents and fellows who rotate through the service on both required and elective experiences. Research focus will depend on applicant interest, and might include clinical trials, neuroimaging, neurostimulation, or the development of innovative models for the delivery of mental health care across a rural environment, among others. The Department of Psychiatry has a robust infrastructure to support research career development, as well as a high degree of collaboration within and outside of the Department.
The ideal candidate will be a skilled clinician, an enthusiastic teacher, and a developing investigator with a strong interest in improving the treatment of mood disorders. Candidates should be board certified (or eligible) in Psychiatry. Preference will be given to applicants with experience managing treatment-resistant mood disorders. Academic rank at the Geisel School of Medicine at Dartmouth and salary will be commensurate with experience.
