Position: Sr. Director of Behavioral Health

Salary: $155,000
Range: $155,000 - $165,000
Work Location: Los Angeles (Magnolia Place)
The Sr. Director of Behavioral Health has overall responsibility for the management and administration of the agency's Behavioral Health Program, including development of program services and professional staff. In addition, this position is accountable for staff performance of services rendered and clients served.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
Organizational Responsibilities:
Ensure that Diversity, Inclusion & Equity (DEI) and Trauma Informed Resilience Oriented Community (TIROC) practices are infused throughout the programing.
Ensure that the program(s) have accurate Key Performance Indicators (KPI), Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) project goals, Critical Goals and Impact Goals that meet the mission and vision of All For Kids.
Review complaints and grievances and make necessary reports (monthly program report) during CQI committee.
Develop and maintain a good working rapport with inter-department personnel, as well as other departments within the organization to ensure that the department services and activities can be properly maintained to meet the needs of the clients we serve.
Review department policies, procedures, manuals, job descriptions, etc., at least annually, and participate in making recommended changes and ensure that program is always compliant with Council of Accreditation (COA) standards.
Maintain CONFIDENTIALITY of all pertinent to client care information to ensure clients' rights are protected.
Represent the organization as ambassadors and experts in the field with external stakeholders, partnering agencies, and governmental entities.
Develop a culture within the program of learning and embed the Continuous Quality Improvement within all areas of the work.
Leadership Responsibilities:
Will ensure the mentorship of direct reports and program staff.
Ensure that all aspects of programming and day-to-day duties are linked to impact.
Develop a culture of innovation with staff and program.
Embed the concepts of critical thinking skills within the culture of the program and staff.
Interpret organizational/department policies and procedures to staff, and clients as necessary.
Directly development and maintain of the program's budgets.
Directly develop the onboarding, retention and recognition plan to ensure that all program staff have the tools to be high impact leaders.
Directly assist in the recruitment, selection, and training of competent department staff.
Maintain an excellent working relationship with external stakeholders, state licensing, and government entities.
Create a strong partnership with People Support Services to ensure a healthy culture within the department.
Set clear programmatic direction and vision. Meet with department staff on a regularly scheduled basis and give guidance as it pertains to operation of the department, identifying and correcting problem areas, and/or the improvement of services.
Determine departmental staffing, evaluate employee performance, Salary recommendations, hiring terminations, transfers, etc.
Serve on various committees of the organization as required and as appointed by Chief Program Officer.
Program Responsibilities:
Provides general supervision to all staff assigned to program, including regarding recruitment, selection, training, performance evaluation, discipline, etc.
Assists and informs program supervisors in leadership matters pertinent to their sites. Leads supervisory group supervision monthly.
Meets regularly with Program Managers and Program supervisors regarding operational concerns for each site.
Manages access and utilization of services, ensuring that the quality of care is commensurate with LA County and State expectations.
Participates in overall program planning, development and quality control.
Ensures compliance with administrative policies and county/state laws, regulations and guidelines. Ensures that all documentation is in compliance with state and federal standards.
Oversee behavioral health security and privacy protection
Oversees development of behavioral health electronic health record system
Reviews budgetary issues. Ensure that all programs are producing at or above expected levels. Provides Program Supervisors with continuous feedback regarding their program goals and strategies to meet contract obligations.
Represents agency in networking with local organizations. Maintains awareness of service delivery changes that are proposed in the mental health system and modifies All For Kids behavioral health service delivery accordingly.
Anticipates system changes and leads organization in meeting challenges.
Maintains confidentiality in matters of agency operations, personnel, and clients.
Maintains positive communications with all agency staff, clients and visitors.
Exercises good judgment in performance of duties and responsibilities
Supports existing agency policies, principles and mission.
Other related duties as assigned.
Job Qualifications
MSW or Master's degree in related human services field from an accredited four-year college or university required
LCSW or MFT licensed with BBS or Licensed Clinical Psychologist licensed with the BOP required
5 - 7 years previous related advanced management and supervisory responsibility
Advanced knowledge of LAC DMH and Federal and State laws
Ability to work in a multi-cultural environment
