Job Description:

Seeking an energetic, team-oriented counselor for meaningful work with people admitted to our inpatient state-designated receiving facility. We provide short-term crisis stabilization and brief 1:1 & group counseling in a milieu setting. Some weekends are required. We welcome students who are working towards their masters degree and would like to become involved in a respected organization with flexibility and many paths for advancement. We offer clinical supervision and valuable experience working with a variety of community populations. If you want to truly LOVE where you workthen we want to talk with you!

Requirements

Key Responsibilities:

  • Previous experience working in locked inpatient units is a plus.
  • Looking for someone with excellent time management skills, who is able to respond quickly and effectively to crisis situations.
  • We are seeking someone who has a passion for mental health and enjoys challenges .
  • Knowledge of evidence-based practices such as Dialectical Behavior Therapy and Illness Management and Recovery is helpful.
  • Must be attentive to detail, and able to solve problems in an environment of positive teamwork and professionalism.
  • Bilingual candidates are encouraged to apply.

Requirements:

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Must have organizational, written, and verbal skills.
  • Basic computer experience required.
  • Successful candidates will be organized self-starters who enjoy working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

Qualifications:

Must be available to work some weekends each month and have occasional flexibility with shifts.

Experience:

At least one full year working in the mental health field. Preference is given to previous experience working in crisis units/environments.

Education:

Bachelors degree in psychology or social work required
