MedStar Washington Hospital Center (MWHC) is seeking a full-time Psychiatrist to join our team in a combined Inpatient and ConsultationLiaison (C/L) Psychiatry role at one of the regions leading academic medical centers.

This position offers a dynamic blend of hospital-based psychiatric care, interdisciplinary collaboration, and academic involvement within a major tertiary care hospital.

Clinical Responsibilities

• Provide psychiatric consultation services for patients admitted to the medical and surgical units as part of a well-established ConsultationLiaison Psychiatry team

• Deliver comprehensive psychiatric care to inpatients on a multidisciplinary team in our state-of-the-art inpatient psychiatric unit (opening April 2026)

• Collaborate closely with physicians, nurses, social workers, and other specialists to support integrated, whole-person care

Academic & Teaching Opportunities

• Work with and teach medical students from Georgetown University School of Medicine

• Supervise and collaborate with MedStar Georgetown psychiatry residents

• Engage with a ConsultationLiaison Psychiatry fellow as part of an academically focused service

This role is ideal for a psychiatrist who enjoys a strong academic environment and values teaching and mentorship.

Qualifications

• Board certified or board eligible in Psychiatry

• Eligible for medical licensure in Washington, DC

• Fellowship training in ConsultationLiaison Psychiatry preferred

• Demonstrated interest in teaching and academic psychiatry strongly desired
