DEPARTMENT FUNCTION/JOB OVERVIEW
Psychometrist responsibilities include psychological and neuropsychological test administration to patients in ways consistent with patient and family goals and values, integrated with the assessment practices of supervising neuropsychologists, and reflective of contemporary standards of psychological science and professional practice. Work will be performed in an ethical and legal manner following organizational policies, processes, protocols and procedures. Responsible for quality service delivery and internal/external customer relations for Madonna as a whole, including upholding the mission and values for the department and facility.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Administering and scoring psychological and neuropsychological assessments under the supervision of a licensed psychologist.
Administering and scoring tests in a standardized manner, consistent with the test developer's instructions as outlined in the test manuals and guidance of the licensed psychologist.
Prepares specific and limited sections of neuropsychological testing reports, such as behavioral observations, aspects of patient history, or data summary tables.
Produces scores and data tables in a timely manner to support efficient feedback and report preparation by the licensed psychologist.
Provides objective behavioral observations to the licensed psychologist to assist with the test interpretation and report writing process.
Manages minor behavioral problems in the context of test administration in a collaborative and respectful manner.
Meets organizational and departmental responsibilities and standards in the areas of moral and ethical behavior, customer relations, professional development and productivity.
Follows instruction from supervisor to perform other functions as assigned in order to achieve the goals within the department and/or system.
Must be able to operate standard office equipment, machines and software with proficient computer skills.
Maintains a clean, organized and safe environment. Handles and operates all necessary equipment and performs required duties according to established safety standards to maintain compliance with regulations and prevent injury.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS
Occasional lift of 25 pounds, frequent lift and carry of 10 pounds. Frequent sitting and occasional walking. Frequent reaching with both arms at low and waist levels. Frequent grasping with both hands requiring normal grip strength based on national averages. Occasional stooping, bending, and twisting. Constant near visual acuity. Ordinary hearing and speaking skills. Indoor work, not exposed to outdoor elements.
The position requires rare physical intervention with agitated or aggressive patients, which could place the staff in an emergency situation and possible contact with blood or body fluids.
QUALIFICATIONS (Education/training and/or Experience)
Bachelor's degree in psychology or a related treatment discipline preferred. Relevant experience and specific training as determined by Madonna may be substituted for the bachelor's degree.
Background checks are conducted. When specific authorization forms are requested so that full background and history can be obtained, employees/applicants must sign the form(s) requested.
