Location: Portland, Oregon
Schedule: Full-Time | Day, Night & Weekend Shifts Available | Start Date: As Early as 06/15/2026
Salary: $20.50 - $24.60/hour ()DOE
About the Opportunity
We are seekingpassionate, resilient, and mission-driven Behavioral Health Technicians (BHTs) to join an innovative Sobering & Deflection Center in Portland, Oregon.
As a Behavioral Health Technician, you will work under the supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN) and alongside a multidisciplinary care team to provide direct support, behavioral monitoring, crisis intervention, and therapeutic engagement for vulnerable populations in crisis.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide direct care and support to behavioral health patients under the direction of an RN
Maintain safety and structure within the assigned unit
Monitor patient behaviors and report concerns appropriately
Identify, address, and elevate safety concerns as needed
Support individuals experiencing behavioral health and substance use crises
Utilize de-escalation and crisis intervention techniques when necessary
Assist with maintaining a calm, therapeutic, and trauma-informed environment
Collaborate with multidisciplinary team members to ensure continuity of care
Respond appropriately to behavioral or medical emergencies
Support clients through sobering and stabilization processes within scope
Required
High school diploma or GED
Minimum of 6 months of healthcare-related experience
Preferred:
Minimum of six months of recovery from substance use
Experience in behavioral health, crisis intervention, substance use treatment, ormunity-based care settings
CPI certification or de-escalation training preferred
Familiarity with Title 36 or similar behavioral health statutes preferred
Ability to remain calm and professional in high-acuity environments
Equivalentbinations of education and experience will be considered.
