Please note: Ottawa County Community Mental Health is currently transitioning to an independent authority. As of October 1, 2026, this position will be a part of the Ottawa County Community Mental Health Authority.

Community Mental Health of Ottawa County is seeking a Board-Certified Behavior Analyst to join the Family Services division at CMHOC. This position will be performing utilization management functions by reviewing and approving contract agency ABA treatment plans for youth 1-21 years of age.

This is a full-time, benefited position based out of the James Street Campus located at 12265 James Street, Holland, MI. Typical working hours are Monday - Friday, 8:00am - 5:00pm.

The essential functions of this position include, but are not limited to, any combination of the following:
  1. Assures that requested services to consumers meet standards of quality and quantity. Quality standards include ensuring consumers are treated in a manner consistent with agency policy, divisional standards, and good clinical practice. Quantity standards require demonstrating units of service provided reflect adherence to goals set for the program.
  2. Works seamlessly with contractual agencies to ensure requirements of clinical care are met.
  3. Provides training to contractual agencies on agency policy, procedures, goals and electronic medical record.
  4. Reviews medical necessity for all Applied Behavior Analyst treatment.
  5. Understands and implements agency utilization management guidelines and provides training to contract agencies as needed.
  6. Establishes/plans/implements program priorities, goals, and outcomes in cooperation with the Autism Program Supervisor, other Clinical Supervisors, and Clinicians, including responsibility for the program's achievement of planned productivity.
  7. Participates in the development and management of agency contracts applicable to the respective program.
  8. Provides authorization of individual services requested by contractual agencies.
  9. Maintains all agency paperwork and clinical record documentation in an accurate and timely fashion.
  10. Understands and implements agency and county personnel policies and the collective bargaining agreement.
  11. Performs other functions as assigned.
Must be a Board-Certified Behavior Analyst with a Masters degree in either Applied Behavior Analysis, Psychology, or Education. Must have a minimum of five years of clinical practice experience. Must demonstrate excellent communication, clinical writing, interpersonal, and relational skills. Advanced computer skills, including word processing, Excel, electronic health records, and e-mail.Required Knowledge and Skills:
  1. Thorough working knowledge of the principles and practices of applied behavior analysis, psychology, and the treatment of children with Autism, mental health and/or substance use disorders.
  2. Thorough knowledge of the principles of family systems.
  3. Thorough working knowledge of utilization management principles, independent problem solving, conflict resolution, team building, and interagency collaboration.
  4. Thorough working knowledge of the principles and practices of clinical assessment and diagnosis, including Autism evaluations.
  5. Thorough working knowledge of MDHHS accreditation requirements and mental health care practitioner licensing requirements.
  6. Good working knowledge of the principles and practices of community-based mental health services.
  7. Demonstrates the capacity to work effectively within agency parameters.
  8. Good working knowledge of managerial and supervisory principles and practices.
  9. Good working knowledge of relevant Evidence-Based Practices, relevant to specific target populations.
  10. Good working knowledge of varied interventions.
  11. Ability to write clear and concise evaluation reports, progress notes, and other necessary documentation.
  12. Participates with and accepts clinical and administrative supervision.

Licenses and Certifications:
Board Certified Behavioral Analyst (BCBA). Drivers License.

Physical Requirements:
Must be able to perform essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation, including, but not limited to, visual and/or audio logical appliances and devices to increase mobility.

Working Conditions:
Work is performed in a normal office environment but may also be performed in some community settings.
