Summary:To qualify for this position, your resume must state sufficient experience and/or education, to perform the duties of the specific position for which you are applying. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer and part time experience. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week. BASIC REQUIREMENT(S): Social Science Series 0101 (opm.gov) In addition to the Basic Requirements, you must also meet the Minimum Qualifications stated below. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: GS-9: One (1) year specialized experience equivalent to at least GS-7. AND/OR two (2) years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to a master's degree or master's or equivalent graduate degree Examples of specialized experience: GS-9: Provide appropriate and therapeutic services to patients; providing consultation and technical assistance on prevention and educational information of suicide, behavioral health practices, and program development; Complete mental health evaluations and/or assist in alcohol or treatment referrals. GS-11: One (1) year specialized experience equivalent to at least GS-9. AND/OR three (3) years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to a Ph.D. degree or Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree Examples of specialized experience: GS-11: Collaborate with other health professionals to assess client needs; refer patients to community resources; provide individual or group counseling; coordinate care with expert diagnostic and treatment consultation to medical providers; assess in-patient needs and patient discharge planning; provide therapy to all age groups utilizing a variety of accepted treatment techniques; develop treatment plans; provide interventions surrounding drug, alcohol, co-occurring disorders, and crisis intervention to potentially life-threatening emergencies. AND SELECTIVE FACTOR for GS-11: unrestricted license as a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC) or Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) SELECTIVE FACTOR (SF): The SF is determined to be essential to perform the duties and responsibilities of the position. Applicants who do not meet a SF will be ineligible for selection consideration. Time In Grade Federal employees in the competitive service are also subject to the Time-In-Grade Requirements: Merit Promotion (status) candidates must have completed one year of service at the next lower grade level. Time-In-Grade provisions do not apply under the Excepted Service Examining Plan (ESEP). You must meet all qualification requirements within 30 days of the closing date of the announcement.
