Psychiatric Services Advanced Practice Provider (APP) - Raleigh, NC

As our Advanced Practice Provider (APP), under physician supervision, you will provide medical and clinical services to SouthLight and community clients. The APP practices as defined by a collaborative scope of practice according to rules and regulations of NC Board of Nursing (BON) and/or NC Medical Board (NCMB). This position may practice in all clinical and medical SouthLight Divisions when appropriate collaborative agreements with supervising physician are in place.
The APP will practice primarily in SouthLight's Psychiatric Services Program, with possibility of cross-coverage and training in the Opioid Treatment Program. The APP will collaborate with clinical and administrative staff to ensure clients are receiving safe, holistic, evidence-based, outcome-driven, quality care in a compassionate, therapeutic environment.
Schedule
Full-time, flexible (5, 8-hour shifts or 4, 10's available).
Hybrid - mix of on-site and remote.
Pay
Starting at $140k/yr, based on experience.

Full-time employees are eligible for medical benefits the first of the month 30 days after hire date. Options for a standard plan and an HSA plan with a $100 initial contribution and up to a $25 per paycheck match. 10 paid holidays and PTO hours which accrue at a rate of 10 hours per month. After 6 months employees are eligible to enroll in our 401(k) plan which has a 4% match. Company paid life insurance, short and long term disability, in house and paid training opportunities, and additional pay for working holidays. SouthLight provides mileage reimbursement.
Job Responsibilities of a Psychiatric Services Advanced Practice Provider (APP)
- Provide psychiatric assessments and medication management services under the supervision of internal SouthLight Healthcare Medical Director or supervising psychiatrist.
- Order, interpret, and evaluate diagnostic tests to identify and assess patient's clinical problems and health care needs.
- Record physical findings, and formulate plan and prognosis, based on patient's condition.
- Discuss cases with physician and other health professionals to prepare comprehensive patient care plan
- As authorized by the State of NC and per DEA regulations, prescribe or recommend drugs or other forms of treatment
- May refer patients to other healthcare providers for consultation or to specialized health resources for treatment
- Participate in quality improvement and supervisory meetings with primary supervising physician and practice manager as needed
- Provide as needed clinical supervision of support staff during clinic hours.
Qualifications of a Psychiatric Services Advanced Practice Provider (APP)
Educational and Experience
- Minimum 2 years' experience in a community health setting in behavioral health and addiction medicine or equivalent experience
- Minimum 1 year experience prescribing psychiatric treatment medication
- Experience with substance abuse and rehabilitation preferred
- Experience and interest with medication assisted treatment/opioid treatment program preferred
Licensure/Certifications
- PMHNP strongly preferred OR
- National PA certification (Masters Degree) + 1 year minimum experience prescribing psychiatric treatment medication.
- Current unrestricted DEA registration
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- General computer skills and ability to use EHR
- Analytical thinking in a medical setting
