Primary Function
Under supervision, the School Psychologist Intern will develop competency in providing prevention, intervention, assessment, counseling, consultation, and program evaluation services. The intern will gain experience in the full scope of duties performed by a credentialed district school psychologist.
Responsibilities
- Consult with teachers and participate in Student Study Team (SST) meetings
- Conduct comprehensive psycho-educational assessments
- Meet with parents and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams
- Participate in IEP meetings and pre-referral processes
- Assist with behavior intervention plans and Section 504 plan implementation
- Support crisis intervention, counseling (individual/group), and conflict resolution programs
- Develop or assist with staff professional development and program improvement efforts
- Become familiar with district programs, legal mandates, and community resources
Qualifications
- Currently enrolled in a graduate-level School Psychology program
- Eligible for the Pupil Personnel Services (PPS) Internship Credential School Psychologist
- Knowledge of psychological principles, assessment methods, and intervention strategies
