Behavior Technician Full Time Position Schedule: 8a - 4p Pay Range: $17.00 - $19.00 per hour based on experience SUMMARY The Behavior Technician (BT) works under the direct supervision of a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) to support clients with traumic brain injuries who display behavioral, emotional, and cognitive needs. The BT assists with implementing behavior support plans, promoting healthy behavior practices, faciliting environmental enrichment, conducting healthy behavior observions, and performing scheduled skill acquisition sessions. This position plays a vital role in ensuring BCBA-developed clinical stregies are consistently followed.

Primary Responsibilities

Behavior Support Implemention

  • Implement individualized behavior support plans as directed by the BCBA.
  • Model and reinforce pro-social, adaptive, and trauma-informed behavioral practices.
  • Utilize approprie de-escalion stregies during emotional or behavioral escalions.

Healthy Behavior Practices

  • Promote and support daily routines such as personal hygiene, hydrion, physical activity, skill practice, coping stregies, and healthy social engagement.
  • Provide coaching reled to emotional regulion, coping tools, and independence-based activities.

Environmental Enrichment

  • Facilite structured and meaningful activities including sensory, recreional, cognitive-stimulion, and life-skills enrichment.
  • Adjust environmental factors to reduce behavioral triggers and enhance comfort and engagement.

Behavior & Healthy Practice Observions

  • Conduct regular observion periods
  • Collect accure, objective behavioral da and monitor engagement in healthy behavior practices.
  • Document antecedents, behaviors, consequences, and environmental variables to support BCBA trement planning.
  • Provide coaching and feedback to direct care staff.

Skill Acquisition Sessions (New Responsibility Added)

  • Complete s kill acquisition training sessions 12 times per week for clients identified as needing these supports.
  • Implement BCBA-designed skill acquisition programs focused on functional skills, daily living skills, coping stregies, or communicion skills.
  • Record detailed session notes, progress da, and any barriers to acquisition.
  • Ensure skill acquisition activities occur during the assigned shift for consistency.

Collaborion & Communicion

  • Maintain regular communicion with the BCBA regarding client progress, challenges, and any observed changes in behavior.
  • Participe in team debriefings, training, and clinical meetings as required.
  • Provide clear handoff communicion the end of each shift.

Safety & Compliance

  • Follow all agency, ste, and federal regulions regarding safety, documention, and client rights.
  • Support crisis plans and behavior interventions as trained.
  • Maintain confidentiality and adhere to ethical standards all times.
Educion and Experience: High School Diploma or equivalent required

Associes or Bachelors degree in psychology, social work, human services, or reled field is preferred

Preferred experience in reled field

At least one year of experience in behavioral health, TBI support, or reled settings.

Ability to collect accure da and follow structured intervention plans.

Strong communicion skills and professionalism under pressure.

Certifices, Licenses, and Registrions: Current CPR/First Aid Certificion as required Valid drivers license in good standing. Car registrion and vehicle insurance if providing transportion for individuals receiving services. Other Requirements: Travel as needed Physical Requirements: Medium Work. Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 30 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
