Nchaug Hospital is Eastern Connecticuts leading provider for children, adolescents and adults with mental illness and substance abuse addictions. We offer a variety of programs including inpient and outpient behavioral health, residential trement for court-involved teenage girls, geriric services, clinical day trement schools and chemical dependency services. Program Summary
Nchaug Hospital's Journey House program is a specialized residential trement facility on the Mansfield campus for adolescent girls with identified needs for behavioral health services who admitted through a referral from the juvenile justice system. Journey House offers a variety of evidence-based trement modalities th are carried out in individual, group and family settings. Residents and the trement team collabore on discharge planning, which includes coordinion of individual and family therapy, medicion management, identificion of a primary care physician and any vocional, recreional or educional planning.
Job Summary
Manager of Behavioral Health is responsible for clinical and administrive and staffing oversight and stregic planning operions and initiives for each program and cost center under their direction. Is accountable for the delivery of efficient, quality service and care consistent with each programs specific goals and objectives. Maintains ethical principles and professional standards of practice in adherence to the disciplines professional code of ethics. May provide direct care as needed.
Key areas of responsibility for the Manager of Behavioral Health:
- Analyzes Program needs and develops meaningful goals and objectives th align with the organizions stregic goals. Prioritizes, elimines impediments, and resolves problems to ensure care, trement and services are fluid, evidence based and client centered. Establishes performance measures/expections, identifies and recommends improvement opportunities.
- Proactively analyzes departmental processes and workflows to identify opportunities for improvement; develops and implements improvement initiives.
- Ensures programs of oversight meet standards set by governing bodies, including Dept of Mental Health & Addiction Services (DMHAS), Psychiric Security Review Board (PSRB), Dept Children & Families (DCF), Dept Public Health (DPH), and Joint Commission.
- Manages staff relions including performance management, staff sisfaction, conflict management, scheduling, recruitment, and colleague engagement.
- Distributes work and deleges to develop colleagues; monitors progress and crees a motiving and inclusive environment. Coaches, provides frequent feedback, and evalues work performance.
- Maintains professional competence and knowledge. Demonstres knowledge of care for required populions necessary to carry out safe and effective performance of duties.
- Leads the development of programming to meet the clinical and stregic needs of the pients and the milieu.
Qualificions
- Masters Degree in social work, counseling, marriage and family therapy or reled human service field
- Two (2) years of management experience in a healthcare reled setting.
- Three (3) years of experience as a licensed Clinician.
- Current Connecticut license; LCSW, LPC, or LMFT
- Valid Driver's License.
- Utilize supervision and team approaches in the context of pient assessment and clinical interventions.
- Demonstres competencies, including knowledge and behaviors, to meet age specific pient needs.
- Excellent communicion skills, with the ability to establish relionships within and outside their entity
