The mental health technician (MHT) is the direct care staff working with the clients who are getting services from our crisis centers. MHTs are responsible for ensuring the safety of clients and maintaining a therapeutic milieu.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Supervise the residents ensuring that they are safe and secure at all times
Implement milieu management systems as needed
Document resident daily activities
Take phone referrals, conduct admission screens and complete admission materials
Conduct group discussion/activities and recreational activities as needed and appropriate
Assist client in utilizing acceptable coping skills
Prepare meals for residents as needed
Contribute to general cleanliness of the facility
Supervise medication administration as needed and requested
Conduct Urine Drug Screens and complete lab requests as needed and appropriate
Document all client activities in the Electronic Medical Record (EHR)
Use supplied training curriculum to de-escalate clients as appropriate
Work collaboratively with the other members of the crisis center to achieve the best outcomes for the clients
Work collaboratively with members of the community to achieve the best outcomes for the clients
Orient clients to the crisis center as needed
Ensure clients belongings are searched and secured as needed
QualificationsQUALIFICATIONS:
Minimum high school diploma or equivalent
Valid KY driver's license
Proof of insurance
Acceptable yearly background check and drug screen
JOB REQUIREMENTS / EXPECTATIONS:
MHTs are not required to be able to lift anything over 10lbs.
MHTs may be required to engage or assist in safe crisis management holds.
MHTs are not required to transport clients.
MHTs are expected to present themselves in a professional manner
MHTs are required to complete company trainings in a timely manner
MHTs are required to participate in yearly performance evaluations with manager
MHTs are expected to be able to stand and use their hands/arms 66% of their shift; walk, stoop, kneel, or crouch 33% of their shift; talk, hear, and communicate more than 66% of their shift
MHTs must have adequate vision with or without visual aids (MHTs are expected to have close, distance, color, peripheral, depth vision, and the ability to adjust/focus vision with or without aids).
