Join our dedicated and energetic team of educators as an Assessment Specialist in our Raymond Hill School. The Raymond Hill School serves elementary, middle, and high school students in need of specialized services delivered in an environment of safety and caring. *$5,000 Sign On Bonus*
Under the direction of the Senior Director of Education and/or the Assistant Director of Education, the Assessment Specialist teaches one or more skills or courses to assigned students to guide them toward greater realization of potential, supports assigned teachers in their academic functions; completes, interprets, and presents academic assessments as requested by Planning and Placement Team meetings (PPT’s), and generally supports the management team of the Raymond Hill School by request of the Senior Director of Education and/or the Assistant Director of Education.
Use of capabilities:
Testing
- Completes academic assessments using the Woodcock Johnson Assessment tool.
- Interprets results and make instructional recommendations for use in the classroom.
- Presents findings at PPT’s.
Teaching
- Teaches Touch Math, Wilson reading or other recommended remediation tools to students at all levels who require this exclusive service.
Mentoring
- Participates in the provision of intensive support for all new teachers, according to either SDE or RHS.
- Meets once a month with each group to discuss ongoing issues and/or concerns.
- Coordinates all TEAM requirements for staff members of RHS.
Administrative Designee
- Sits in and chairs PPT’s when requested to by the Senior Director of Education and/or the Assistant Director of Education.
- Represents RHS in internal and/or external meetings as needed.
- Assists in other specified duties as determined by administrative team.
Use of capabilities is characterized by continuing concern for growth and development of assigned students, and by sound judgment in the development of therapeutic programs of education; and by sensitivity in the teaching and control of students.
Education/Experience/Other Requirements:
Master’s degree in special education, appropriate state certification, completion of the TEAM mentoring program, and at least 5 years experience in the field of special education. Acquisition and maintenance of certifications in Therapeutic Crisis Intervention and CPR/First Aid required.
Duration: 10 Month Position
