Nchaug Hospital is Eastern Connecticuts leading provider for children, adolescents and adults with mental illness and substance use addictions. We offer a variety of programs including inpient and outpient behavioral health, residential trement for court-involved teenage girls, geriric services, clinical day trement schools and chemical dependency services. Program Summary

Nchaug's Joshua Center Programs tre children as young as six and as old as 17 who are struggling with psychiric or substance abuse issues, but do not require inpient care. Services Include: Comprehensive assessment, which may include: Comprehensive aftercare planning, family, group, and individual therapy, occupional and creive rehabilition therapy. Nchaug Hospital provides transportion from school to the Joshua Center Program, and then to the students home.

Job Summary

Behavioral Health Clinician works in coordinion with interdisciplinary teams to organize, prepare, and deliver evidence based clinical services in the Child/Adolescent Outpient department. Clinical services include individual, group and family therapy.

This position provides services Monday through Friday, totaling 24 hours/week.

Key responsibilities of Behavioral Health Clinician:

  • Conducts a comprehensive bio-psychosocial assessment and establishes a care plan, as approprie.
  • Provides direct pient care th may include case management, care coordinion, interdisciplinary collaborion for care transition needs, crisis intervention/safety planning, counseling, and emotional support to pients and families coping with illness, trauma, or end -of-life care, referral and discharge planning.
  • Refers pient to approprie levels of care and available resources th promote the individualized care plan.
  • Maintains timely pient-centered documention th reflect the pient and client systems pertinent informion for assessment, interventions and outcomes in accordance with regulory licensing requirements and third-party agencies.

***Behavioral Health Clinicians are eligible for a Sign On Bonus up to $2,500.00, in accordance with program guidelines***

Qualificions
  • Masters degree in social work, counseling, marriage and family therapy or reled human service field.
  • Previous experience in a healthcare setting required, preferably working with a mental health and/or chemical dependency populion
  • Current Connecticut LMSW, LPC-A, LMFT-A, or CADC
  • Excellent communicion skills, with the ability to establish relionships within and outside their entity
  • Is cognizant of health-reled social needs and cultural competence.
