Job Overview :

This Assistant Director of Patient Care will work in the 27 bed adult Short term Care Unit. This unit is for individuals who are involuntarily committed, experiencing acute psychiatric crises, providing a safe environment, a supportive and structured milieu, and intensive psychiatric and physiological therapeutic interventions. a

Qualifications:

Required:

  • Minimum of 1year of progressive nursing leadership and or RN experience in an acute care setting
  • Graduated from an accredited school of nursing
  • Baccalaureate Degree in Nursing or currently matriculating

Certifications and Licenses Required:

  • NJ RN License
  • BLS from the American Heart Association

Scheduling Requirements:

  • Full Time
  • Day Shift
  • 37.5 hours per week

Essential Functions:

  • Ensures that quality nursing care is delivered to all patients on his/her nursing units in accordance with the mission, vison, values, policies, procedures and program plans of the hospital
  • Assists with the development of patient care standards, orientation and continuing education
  • Participates in the interview s and hiring of potential candidates for open positions on the unit
  • Provides input into evaluation and/or corrective action of staff performance in accordance with organization policies
  • Participates in nursing Quality Improvement
  • Assists with unit administration, including scheduling, payroll and maintenance of supplies and equipment
  • Maintains and role models clinical skills necessary to provide care to patients
  • Uses an understanding of the principles of growth and development to assess each patient s age specific needs and provide age specific treatment and care
  • Insure that unit/department/division is in compliance with all applicable policies, law s and regulations
