As a Nurse Extern, youll be a valued part of the nursing team, gaining hands-on experience as you explore the full scope of the Registered Nurse role. Youll help deliver safe, compassionate care that improves patients lives while building the skills and confidence to take on more advanced responsibilities as you progress through your nursing program.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Providing essential care for patients by helping with ADLs (Activities of Daily Living), checking vital signs, supporting mobility, and ensuring comfort and hygiene
• Performing nursing tasks like wound care, catheter care, collecting specimens, and other basic procedures as you gain experience and grow in your competency
• Documenting care accurately and communicating timely updates with the nursing team to keep patient care seamless and coordinated
• Helping patients and families understand their care plans and offering guidance for their health and recovery
• Keeping patient areas clean and safe by following infection prevention practices, managing equipment, and maintaining an organized environment
• Championing your growth and enhancing patient care by engaging in learning opportunities, sharing ideas to improve care, and partnering with your supervisor or preceptor to build your personal career development plan

• Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
• Nonviolent Crisis Intervention must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
• (DL) Driver License
• Must be actively enrolled an Accredited Nursing Program
• No Travel Required
• No experience Required Years of Experience

These include Parkridge Valley Adult and Senior. These include Parkridge Valley Child and Adolescent campus. These also include Parkridge Valley Cleveland and Parkridge Valley West. Parkridge Valley West is a behavioral health hospital. We offer adult inpatient and outpatient behavioral health services. These are offered to residents of Marion and its surrounding counties.
