YWCA of Hawaii Island

YWCA of Hawaii Island

In 1919, visionary Hilo women responded to the need for safe housing for young women, founding the YWCA of Hawai?i Island as part of a national and worldwide women’s movement. Over the years, the needs of women and their families have shaped the programs and services provided by the YWCA. Today, the YWCA remains a place of hope and positive change for women and their families. YWCA of Hawaii Island is dedicated to eliminating racism, empowering women and promoting peace, justice, freedom and dignity for all. YWCA Hawaii Island is a not-for-profit membership organization and a United Way partner.
