Job Summary

Under the direction of the Assistant Superintendent or designee, the School Based Mental Health Therapist will provide direct mental health therapeutic, case management and support services to students within the limits of the related licensing board, professional standards, and California Education Code and regulations. The SBMHT provides consultation to school staff, parents, and supervision of therapy interns. Also, the SBMHT will provide clinical assessments and interventions for students with mental health needs. The SBMHT will support SST, 504, and IEP teams in determining appropriate services, supports, and placement to address the mental health needs of eligible students.

Requirements / Qualifications

This position works 8 hours a day. Hiring to cover extended maternity leave starting in August 2025 Minimum Qualifications: - Master's Degree or Doctorate from an accredited university and/or college with major coursework in social work, psychology, or closely related field. - Valid California Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) certification/license or Valid Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW). - Two (2) years of experience in the behavioral health plan process (direct services, treatment plans, monitoring of progress, and termination of services), including experience providing mental health services to minors. - Experience in provide mental health therapy services in a school setting, is preferred. - Experience in a school setting implementing Positive Behavior Supports is preferred.
