The Mental Health Therapist Opportunity:

The Mental Health Therapist provides mental health and substance use disorder assessment and psychotherapy for individuals, families or group and consultation and education for the community in a manner that most effectively meets the philosophy and goals of North Central Health Care, based on evidenced based practices.

Compensation and Benefits:

  • Starting pay range for a fully licensed therapist is $74,776 to $81,411 annual salary, based on education and experience. Starting pay range for an in-training therapist is $61,318 to $66,768 annual salary based on education and experience. This position is also eligible for a $5,000 retention bonus.
  • This role is full-time, on-site, and typically works weekday business hours.

  • As a full-time employee of NCHC, you are eligible for the Wisconsin Retirement System (WRS). The WRS is a hybrid defined benefit plan. It contains elements of both a 401(k) or defined contribution plan and a defined benefit plan. Participating staff contribute 6.95% and NCHC will match this at 100% each pay period!

What Qualifies You:

  • State of Wisconsin Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Professional Counselor (LPC), Marriage & Family Therapist (LMFT) or Licensed Psychologist
  • Master’s degree in human services or a related field
  • Minimum six months’ relevant experience
  • Preferred three or more years’ experience
  • CPR Certification for those providing services within the Day Treatment Program
  • Valid Wisconsin driver's license and appropriate auto insurance coverage as required by North Central Health Care.
  • Must have the use of a personal vehicle

What a Mental Health Therapist does at NCHC:

  • Conducts screening/assessment/evaluation of consumers and plan appropriate care utilizing designated organizational evidence-based practices.
  • Conducts individual, family and group therapy with various age groups.
  • Provides consultation and education to the community.
  • Provides emergency crisis backup services, including mobile crisis services.
  • Performs case management duties as necessary.
  • Remains flexible in scheduling in order to meet client need.
  • Maintains regular and predictable on-site attendance.
  • Ability to perform an assessment, create a treatment plan, and make recommendations based on findings
  • Ability to collaborate with community partners
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to multi-task, perform under pressure and adapt to change
