They are responsible for assessing and diagnosing the mental condition of a patient, administering medication and treatments, and developing and implementing patient care plans. Before becoming a Psychiatric RN, individuals often have experience in roles such as a Registered Nurse, Licensed Practical Nurse, or Certified Nursing Assistant.
